Change Leadership Workshop
BMG's Change Leadership Workshop is a remarkable class for anyone involved in leading organizations, especially Master Black Belts, Black Belts and Champions. This five-day program is designed to provide the participant with the processes, tools, and skills required to successfully lead an organizational transformation. The workshop is designed around a 12-step process for successfully planning, implementing, monitoring, and solidifying change. The process is research-based, can be implemented on a macro- or micro-level to support change initiatives, and can be easily expanded or contracted depending on the scope of the implementation The overall goals of the workshop are to enable participants to:
Understand their role as a change leader
1. Identify and develop concrete action plans for successfully leading a critical change effort and
2. Identify and “practice” key tools and skills they will require for effectively leading their change initiative, overcoming resistance, and winning support from others
Workshop Overview
Phase I: Clarify needs
Phase II: Define the change “Contract” and goal
Phase III: Identify obstacles and the “best” ways to address them
Phase IV: Produce a plan
Phase V: Implementation and monitor the plan
Phase VI: Stabilize outcomes and carry learning forward
Objectives
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Describe:
- Their role as a [formal or informal] change agent
- Four critical actions they must personally take to produce superior results
- Six critical factors for creating and enabling an environment for others to successfully implement change and produce “stellar” results
2 . Identify a 6-phase, 12-step model for leading change
3 . Describe what “winning change teams” look like and recognize unhealthy dynamics that undermine team performance
4 . Practice methods for uncovering resistance and identify nine common forms of resistance
5 . Identify behavioral styles and needs of team members
6 . Assess themselves and develop action plans for improving personal effectiveness
7. Make a commitment to action
8. Develop a greater confidence in their ability to, “know the right things to do,” and to fulfill their role as a Six Sigma change leader
Methods
A variety of learning methods are used in this workshop including: identification of a “real life” change the participants must implement, large group discussions, lecturettes, videos, small group discussion and strategy sessions, personal change leadership tools, skills-practice sessions, peer and instructor feedback, personal coaching, and action planning
